Upcoming content teased in League of Legends client

The Latest Season of League of Legends Begins with Exciting Updates

The new season of the popular game, League of Legends, has officially started today. When you log into the client, you’ll be greeted with a preview of exciting new content on the horizon.

The home screen showcases the 2020 season cinematic trailer called “Warriors,” which was released yesterday. Below that, you’ll notice six locks. Hovering over these locks will reveal artwork and text, giving fans a sneak peek of what’s coming soon.

From left to right, the locks represent The Rift in 2020, Exploring Runeterra, Beta Season for Legends of Runeterra, Future of Teamfight Tactics, Sett Release, and Mecha Kingdoms event. League of Legends’ website has confirmed that each day, one of these locks will be opened, unveiling the information inside.

However, League of Legends fans may already have some information about these updates. Riot Games announced in Patch 10.1 that Sett and his Mecha Kingdoms skin will be released on Jan. 14, while the rest of the Mecha Kingdoms skins will be available on Jan. 15. This suggests that the first lock will be opened today, with subsequent content being revealed in the following days.

Legends of Runeterra, Riot’s digital card game set in the League universe, hasn’t been playable since the last beta in November. The information to be released on day three may include the start date for the next beta, which could be as early as Sunday, Jan. 12. Additionally, an announcement may be made about the mobile version of TFT and the release of the highly anticipated new set.

As a new League season begins, players are not only excited to compete in ranked matches and climb the ladder but also to explore the abundance of new content that awaits them.
