UmTi, from Fredit BRION, becomes the latest LCK player to test positive for COVID-19

Fredit BRION Jungler Tests Positive for COVID-19

Fredit BRION’s jungler, Eom “UmTi” Seong-hyeon, has tested positive for COVID-19, becoming the latest player in the LCK to be affected by the virus. The rest of the League of Legends squad and coaching staff have tested negative.

Fearing further spread, the organization will disinfect the team’s practice center, house, and vehicle, as reported by Korizon Esports.

Substitute Jungler to Step In

With UmTi unable to play, substitute jungler Jeon “Raptor” Eo-jin will most likely take his place in the forthcoming matches of the 2022 LCK Spring Split. The team is scheduled to play against Liiv SANDBOX and T1, two teams also affected by the virus.

This COVID-19 outbreak poses a challenge for Fredit BRION. Currently in fifth place, they have secured a spot in the playoffs. However, they have four matches remaining, including three against the top three teams in the league.

Widening the gap with lower-ranked teams may prove difficult for Fredit BRION.

The LCK has experienced a surge in COVID-19 infections in recent months, with teams like DRX, Gen.G, and DWG KIA also being affected by the virus.
