Udyr and Hecarim receive nerfs, while Yasuo gets a buff in League Patch 11.7 preview

League of Legends Patch 11.7 Preview: Nerfs and Buffs Incoming

The gameplay design director of League of Legends, Mark “Scruffy” Yetter, has revealed the upcoming changes in Patch 11.7. In this patch, seventeen champions will receive nerfs and buffs, with a focus on the game’s current jungle meta. Udyr will have his base attack damage nerfed, and Hecarim’s movement speed granted by Devastating Charge (E) will be reduced from 75 percent to 65 percent.

Jungle Meta Nerfs

Both Udyr and Hecarim will also see nerfs to their build paths due to the heavy nerf planned for Turbo Chemtank’s movement speed bonus in Patch 11.7. As both champions rely on movement speed boosts for effective ganking and controlling the enemy, these nerfs could make them less favorable picks.

Support Champions Nerfed

Support players will also experience significant downgrades in Patch 11.7. Thresh, Rell, and Alistar are all set to have their throughput decreased, with Alistar seeing a reduction in damage from both Pulverize (Q) and Trample (E).

Buffed Champions

However, it’s not all bad news in Patch 11.7. Several champions will receive extensive buffs, including Amumu and Kindred for jungle players, and Varus and Ashe for ADCs, increasing their overall damage output. The most notable buff is reserved for Yasuo, who will see his attack damage per level increased from 2.2 to 3, a 36 percent boost that could elevate his presence in professional play.

In 2021, Yasuo’s presence rate in professional play dropped to 2.5 percent, according to gol.gg. With this significant buff, Yasuo might regain his popularity in a meta dominated by control mages like Syndra, Orianna, and Azir.

Patch 11.7 is scheduled to go live on March 31st, according to the official patch schedule released by Riot Games.
