Tyler1 slams broadcast decision made during Worlds 2022 final: ‘I can’t stand it!’

The 2022 League of Legends World Championship Final Criticized by Tyler1

The final of the 2022 League of Legends World Championship was an emotional event, but it left popular streamer Tyler1 with some criticism. He expressed his disapproval with how the broadcast focused on T1’s support player Ryu “Keria” Min-seok after their loss to DRX in the best-of-five series. Keria, visibly shaken and tearing up, received too much camera time according to Tyler1.

“When he starts physically shaking… fine, you can show it, but you don’t have to show him having an episode for five seconds, man. Get the camera off him, I hate that,” Tyler1 commented.

Tyler1 acknowledged the importance of showing emotions in esports and understood the need to highlight the highs and lows of players. However, he believed that the production team went too far in focusing on Keria’s breakdown after the loss.

“They need to show it,” said Tyler1, but he emphasized that the camera stayed on Keria for “a little too long.”

While the camera primarily focused on DRX celebrating their unexpected victory, it frequently switched to a devastated Keria who was being comforted by his teammate Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun.

Later on, when DRX approached T1 for fist bumps, the camera continued to linger on Keria before switching to DRX lifting the Summoner’s Cup.

Despite the criticism, the 2022 League of Legends World Championship Final was a display of intense emotions and competitive spirit.
