Tyler1 criticizes jungle in League of Legends, claiming it lacks any element of risk.

Twitch Star Tyler1 Discusses the Problems with the Jungle Role in League of Legends

During his livestream today, popular Twitch streamer Tyler1 shared his thoughts on the most controversial role in League of Legends—the jungle. He believes that the primary issue with jungle is the lack of risk involved.

Riot Games has made several changes to the jungle role in season 11’s preseason, aiming to make it more beginner-friendly. They have also made adjustments to the jungle champion pool and implemented positional nerfs. Additionally, the premier junglers in the game have received several nerfs. However, balancing the role continues to be a challenge for the developers. According to Tyler1, one of the main problems is that junglers can clear camps without taking significant damage.

The Lack of Risk in Jungling

Tyler1 emphasized that there is very little risk in the jungle role. He pointed out that junglers can clear camps easily without losing much health. This allows them to go for ganks without the fear of dying. They can continue farming their jungle, using potions and Smite to replenish their health, and potentially accumulate a significant amount of gold by the time they recall to base.

This issue is further exacerbated by the fact that top junglers like Udyr and Hecarim have high pick, ban, and win rates. Despite being nerfed multiple times in season eleven, these champions can clear camps efficiently, invade enemy junglers, and dominate laners.

The Complexity of Jungle and Player Frustration

Jungle, however, remains a challenging role that alienates many players. Its complexity, particularly in lower ranks, often leads players to queue for other positions instead. Riot has tried to address this issue by making popular champions like Morgana and Darius viable in the jungle. They have also reduced the power of kiting camps. Nevertheless, the jungle role continues to divide the player base.
