Two popular ADCs in LoL are facing challenges in making an impact on the MSI 2023 meta.

The Struggles of Jinx and Zeri at the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational

Fan-favorite champions in League of Legends don’t always succeed on the international stage, as we’ve seen with Jinx and Zeri at the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational. Despite being piloted by top AD carries like Yutapon from DFM and Hans sama from G2 Esports, these two ADCs have suffered numerous losses.

Unfortunately, Jinx and Zeri have below-average win rates at MSI 2023. According to pro League stats tracking site Gol.gg, Jinx sits at 46.7 percent, while Zeri is even lower at 33.3 percent. They are struggling to live up to expectations.

On the other hand, Aphelios, the Weapon of the Faithful, has been dominating the ADC meta at MSI 2023. With a win rate of 66.7 percent and 12 wins, Aphelios is proving to be a formidable champion. Players like Gumayusi from T1 and Tsou “Wako” Wei-Yang from PSG Talon have showcased their skill with Aphelios, contributing to their teams’ victories.

Aphelios, however, is a challenging champion to master. His unique weapon mechanics require extensive knowledge of his kit. As a result, his play rate in ranked League games is relatively low at 8.2 percent, compared to Jinx, who is picked in almost one-quarter of ranked matches.

While Jinx remains popular, Zeri’s popularity has waned. She is no longer considered a “must-have” champion, and her performance both domestically and internationally has suffered. This decline could be attributed to the nerfs she received in Patch 13.7, which made her less viable against the current meta-picks.

The Role of Team Composition and Aphelios

As the bracket stage of the Mid-Season Invitational continues, Jinx and Zeri will likely make appearances on the Rift. However, their ability to contribute to their teams’ success will depend on team composition and whether they face off against Aphelios, who has proven to be a formidable opponent.
