TSM’s League of Legends division experiences significant changes with another important departure

Head coach Wong “Chawy” Xing Lei Leaves TSM After a Year

The recent League of Legends offseason has been tough for TSM fans. The team has let go of several players and staff members over the past few months, and now another important figure is saying goodbye.

TSM announced today that head coach Wong “Chawy” Xing Lei is officially leaving the organization. He joined the team in 2022 during a difficult time for TSM. This move comes after TSM parted ways with general manager Glen Yang and team manager Kristine Huang in March.

Chawy became TSM’s head coach before the 2022 season after the team lost several key players in the previous offseason. Despite his efforts, TSM had a disappointing season, finishing as a bottom-three team in the Spring Split and getting eliminated in the playoffs by Evil Geniuses in the Summer Split.

Although TSM failed to qualify for Worlds 2022 and had another unsuccessful Spring Split in 2023, Chawy has received praise for his leadership during a difficult time for the team.

Looking ahead, TSM is already rumored to be signing a new coach and mid laner for the next season. They are reportedly bringing on former Cloud9 Challengers head coach Seong “Reven” Sang-hyeon and former Team Heretics mid laner Lee “Ruby” Sol-min. These additions could be crucial for TSM’s push towards the LCS championship in the summer.
