TSM’s Convincing Week 6 Win Shatters Immortals’ Mid-Season Showdown Hopes

Immortals’ Hopes Dwindle as They Fall to TSM

Immortals’ chances of making it to the Mid-Season Showdown (MSS) have been shattered after losing to TSM in the final week of the 2021 Spring Split. With a record of 7-10, Immortals is now unable to catch Evil Geniuses for the last guaranteed spot in the MSS.

TSM’s mid laner, PowerOfEvil, was the standout player in their victory against Immortals. Despite nerfs to Azir, PowerOfEvil confidently picked the champion and dominated the game. He ended the match with a line score of 4/1/8 and an impressive kill participation of 85 percent. This win also improved PowerOfEvil’s record on Azir to 5-0 in the regular season.

Although the teams for the MSS are already decided, the seeding is still up for grabs. The remaining nine games of the LCS Spring Split will determine the rankings of the top six teams in the MSS bracket. Immortals, CLG, Golden Guardians, and FlyQuest, who are currently outside the qualification spots, still have a chance to spoil the standings in the next two days.

Before today’s matches, all four second-place teams in the LCS were just one game behind first place Cloud9. TSM has already closed the gap and is now only half a game behind Cloud9. Tomorrow, they will face the struggling Golden Guardians team, which has lost seven consecutive games.

If Dignitas manages to defeat Cloud9, there is a possibility of a five-way tie for first place heading into the final day of the Spring Split. The outcome of the matches between 100 Thieves and FlyQuest, as well as Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses, will have significant implications on the final day.
