TSM Spica: “As a fresh team, our focus is steady improvement and aiming for the top 3 position by the end of the split”

TSM Bounces Back with a Win Over Team Dignitas in LCS Summer Split

TSM had a difficult start to the 2020 League of Legends Summer Split, but they redeemed themselves with a convincing victory against Team Dignitas.

The team’s decision-making and teamfighting looked much cleaner compared to their previous match against Team Liquid. This improvement can be attributed to the performance of their new jungler, Mingyi “Spica” Lu. Although he struggled in his first match of the summer, he stepped up and played a crucial role in securing the win this time.

Positive Outlook and Slow Progress

In an interview with , Spica expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating that he had a significant impact on the early game. He acknowledged that there are still areas for improvement, such as communication and synergy within the team. However, he believes that this week’s win marks a promising start for TSM.

TSM has been facing disappointment in recent years, with their longest championship drought to date. Despite this, Spica emphasized that the team understands the importance of long-term progress. He compared the race to the top to a marathon rather than a sprint.

“I don’t think we’re the best team right now, but I think we are slowly improving,” said Spica. “We have a lot of things that we’re working on, and we know what we need to work on. So, I think the split will start off slow, but I think towards playoffs, we will just ramp up and become a really good team.”

Aspirations for the Season

Spica also shared the team’s mindset and expectations for the season. Despite being a new team, their goal is to reclaim their position as the best team in North America. They aim to steadily improve throughout the split and challenge other teams for a spot in the playoffs.

The young jungler also praised Doublelift, TSM’s superstar AD carry, for his commanding voice and the impact it has had on his own playstyle. Doublelift recently rejoined TSM after a disappointing end to his time with Liquid last split.

Looking Ahead

TSM fans can look forward to watching Spica and the rest of the team in action when the 2020 LCS Summer Split resumes on Friday, June 19.
