TSM Planning Roster Changes for 2022 LCS Summer Split
TSM is gearing up to make some significant roster changes for the upcoming 2022 LCS Summer Split. According to a report by Brieuc Seeger from Upcomer, the organization will be replacing their current rookie support Shenyi with former Estral Esports member Choi “Mia” Sang-in.
A Roller Coaster Season for Shenyi
During the spring season, Shenyi had a tumultuous journey with TSM. The 19-year-old started on the main roster but was quickly moved down to the Academy squad. This decision came after he locked in a champion on-stage without consulting his coaches or teammates. As a result of his actions, he was benched for a few weeks. Head coach Wong “Chawy” Xing Lei deemed his reactions to be negative and disrespectful. Although Shenyi was eventually reinstated, TSM’s lack of success and growth in the last split might have prompted the organization to seek a new solution.
A New Addition – Mia
Stepping in for Shenyi, Mia is a relatively unknown support player who has been active in the LLA since May 2021. He previously played alongside Korean AD carry Ju “Bvoy” Yeong-hoon on Estral Esports. Despite their efforts, the team failed to secure a championship in their region. They came close to qualifying for the World Championship last year and recently ended as the runners-up against Team Aze in their quest to qualify for MSI 2022.
Additionally, there are reports that TSM is also on the lookout for a new mid laner to replace Zhu “Keaiduo” Xiong. While the team experimented with Academy mid laner Ji “Takeover” Cha Hyeun-min during the season, there isn’t any news yet on who TSM is targeting for this summer.
TSM’s Search for Redemption
After a disappointing 2022 Spring Split, where TSM finished in ninth place with a 5-13 record, the organization will use the break during MSI to find answers. With players like Spica, Huni, and Tactical still on their roster, TSM has a strong foundation to build upon. However, time is ticking, and they need to plan for the future of the organization.
