TSM Reportedly Hires Mid Laner as a ‘Sixth Man’ for 2023 LCS Summer Split

TSM Adds David “Insanity” Challe as Substitute Mid Laner Ahead of LCS Summer Split

According to a recent update in the League of Legends official global contract database, TSM is expected to have a sixth player for their 2023 LCS Summer Split. Academy mid laner David “Insanity” Challe has been added to the lineup as a substitute. Alongside him, Lee “Ruby” Sol-min will also be joining the team. There were rumors of veteran mid laner Kim “Fenix” Jae-hun joining as well, but TSM’s global head of socials confirmed that Fenix was not part of the roster.

Preparing for the LCS Summer Split

The North American League teams are gearing up for the upcoming LCS Summer Split, with only a week left until it begins. The teams are getting their rosters ready for a chance to compete in the playoffs and potentially qualify for Worlds in South Korea in October.

TSM has also been in the headlines due to their plans of leaving the league and joining another tier-one region. Additionally, there has been confusion among fans regarding the mid lane situation, with the team potentially adding another player for the summer split.

TSM’s global head of socials clarified on the team’s subreddit that Fenix will not be joining the roster and that Insanity is the sixth man behind Ruby for the upcoming season. Some fans speculate that Insanity was signed to be TSM’s Challenger League mid laner before the organization’s departure from the tier-two scene.

If Insanity takes the stage with TSM, he will be the team’s first North American-born mid laner since 2014 when current CEO Andy “Reginald” Dinh was still a professional player. According to the contract database, Insanity’s contract is set to expire “upon TSM Summer LCS elimination,” indicating that he will be employed as long as the team is playing on stage.

The LCS Summer Split is set to begin on June 1, with TSM starting their final split in North America against Team Liquid and FlyQuest.
