TSM Suffers Shock Losses, Cloud9 Takes Second Place
This weekend in the North American League Championship Series, Team SoloMid (TSM) faced unexpected defeats, while Cloud9 climbed in the rankings.
TSM, who recently fired coach KC “Woodbuck” Woods, lost to underperforming Team Dignitas in a surprising turn of events. Despite Dignitas’s poor performance this season, they managed to defeat TSM’s star-studded lineup.
Cloud9 also secured a victory against TSM, overtaking them to claim second place.
In contrast, Immortals, TSM’s top table rivals, continued their winning streak with victories against Renegades and Team Liquid. Immortals now have a guaranteed playoff spot with a perfect 12-0 record.
Renegades, the league’s bottom-ranked team, suffered their 11th consecutive defeat after losing to Immortals. While still mathematically possible, it is highly likely that Renegades will have to compete in the Summer Promotion tournament to secure their LCS future.
On the other hand, Echo Fox, who has struggled with form and visa issues, had a victorious week against Team Liquid and Team Impulse. Echo Fox has seen a rapid rise in the standings, moving from ninth to sixth place in just two weeks.
