TSM emerges victorious in another intense CLG rivalry match—though the gameplay gets chaotic

TSM and CLG: A Disappointing Showdown

This year’s NA LCS Spring Split was a letdown for both TSM and CLG. With high stakes heading into their first Summer Split showdown, both teams had a lot to prove.

TSM Comes Out On Top

Unfortunately, the game between TSM and CLG was messy. However, TSM can find solace in the fact that they showed more promise than their counterparts on CLG, who fell short on Saturday.

TSM’s Late-Game Power

TSM followed their classic strategy of picking a late-game scaling composition. Surprisingly, even when the meta favors champions like Irelia in the mid lane and Yasuo and Heimerdinger in the bot lane, TSM still found a team composition that allowed them to play to their late-game strengths.

Although they made several mistakes during the early and mid games, TSM’s late-game power ultimately prevailed. Even if CLG hadn’t made constant missteps, they probably wouldn’t have been able to win a fight.

Challenges for TSM

Despite their win, TSM still faces some challenges. They displayed the same early confidence issues they had in the spring. Additionally, they struggle with utilizing their superstar bot lane, Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodríguez and Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen, to consistently gain advantages even when they come into power later in the game.

Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, who has been in a slump since the beginning of last split, didn’t have a standout performance on Irelia in the mid lane. However, there weren’t many major complaints about his gameplay. The team’s saving grace was top laner Kevin “Hauntzer” Yarnell, who had a nearly perfect game despite a misplay in a one-vs-one against Ornn during the mid game.

What’s Next for TSM

TSM’s next game is tomorrow at 2pm CT.
