Trick returns to Europe by joining Schalke 04.

Schalke 04 Signs Former G2 Esports Jungler Trick for 2019 Spring Offseason

Schalke 04 has made a major roster move for the upcoming 2019 spring offseason by signing Kim “Trick” Gang-yun, former jungler for G2 Esports.

This marks Trick’s return to the EU scene after over a year. Since leaving G2 Esports in November 2017, he has played for LCK team bbq Olivers and Turkish team Galakticos, where he had a difficult time.

Schalke head coach Dylan Falco expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating, “[Trick] is an exceptional athlete with great potential and a high level of gaming intelligence. With his skills and experience, he will help us to continue improving. We are glad that [Trick] has chosen Schalke.” (source)

The team announced the signing on Twitter, welcoming Trick as a 4-time LCS Champion and a valuable addition to the roster. (source)

An Exciting Duo for Schalke

Trick will join forces with former bbq support Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun to boost Schalke’s performance. The team narrowly missed the playoffs recently and is determined to make a comeback in the 2019 LEC Summer Split.

Trick’s EU Pedigree and Schalke’s Jungler Situation

Schalke’s decision to sign Trick adds a jungler with extensive experience in the EU LCS. As a four-time EU LCS champion, Trick brings valuable knowledge of the league. However, this move raises questions about the future playing time of current jungler Jonas “Memento” Elmarghichi. It remains to be seen if Schalke will opt for a six-man roster or keep one of them as a substitute player. Updates on this situation are expected in the 2019 LEC Summer Split.
