Translations: Beyond the Game [Part I] OMG Reflects on Their Setbacks.

OMG’s Struggles Revealed in Exclusive Interview

In a recent interview, OMG players Cool, Loveling, and Gogoing opened up about the difficulties they faced during the Spring and Summer Split. The team experienced their worst results in history, and they shared insights into the problems that plagued them.

Communication Issues and Lack of Trust

The players highlighted communication issues and a lack of trust as major factors contributing to their poor performance. They admitted that each member had different qualities and temperaments, which made it challenging to work together effectively.

They pointed out that Gogoing’s stubbornness and Uzi’s fiery temper caused friction within the team. Communication breakdowns and an inability to resolve conflicts further strained relationships.

OMG’s Change in Attitude

During the Spring Split, OMG’s attitude shifted, causing them to lose focus on their goals. The team experienced a sense of complacency after a string of domestic victories. However, the introduction of Korean players in the Chinese league exposed the team’s weaknesses at the international level.

Cool expressed his anxiety about the game and a tendency to be extreme in discussions. Loveling admitted that the team struggled to believe in each other, leading to a “every man for himself” mentality.

The Coach’s Role

The players also addressed the role of their Korean coach. While they recognized the coach’s efforts and valued his opinions, they felt that he needed to earn their respect and demonstrate his usefulness to the team. They revealed that the coach’s emphasis on individual discussions hindered open discussions and problem-solving within the team.

In Part 2 of the interview, the players will share more insights into their struggles and the changes they made to improve their performance.
