Top AD Carries Shine at 2023 Mid-Season Invitational
The 2023 Mid-Season Invitational has witnessed some of the best talent in the competitive League of Legends scene. While every roster boasts talented players, the success of a team often hinges on the performance of their AD carry.
In the past month, two players have emerged as the standout carries of their organizations at MSI, consistently delivering high-average damage numbers throughout the tournament.
Bilibili Gaming’s rising star, Zhao “Elk” Jia-Hao, currently leads all players at MSI with an average of 899 damage to champions per minute. JD Gaming’s veteran icon, Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, follows closely behind with an average of 847 damage per minute, according to League stats aggregate Oracle’s Elixir.

Elk has been a standout performer for BLG, leading his team in kills with 35.3 percent and total damage with 34.5 percent across 15 games. Since the play-in stage, Elk has maintained a perfect 4-0 record with Lucian. Additionally, he has a combined 5-5 record on Aphelios and Jinx, who have become staples in the bottom lane throughout the bracket stage.
Ruler, as expected, has been exceptional in his role as the best AD carry in the tournament. He accounts for 33.0 percent of his team’s total damage and 41.7 percent of their total kills, according to Oracle’s Elixir.
In several games, including their recent series against T1, JDG has constructed strategies to protect Ruler, utilizing his expert positioning to capitalize on key opportunities. His proficiency on Jinx and Aphelios has been on full display, boasting a combined 6-2 record on these champions with only one loss each.
