The Best Mid Laners at Worlds 2023
Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon – Gen.G
Chovy has always been considered one of the best players in the world, but he hasn’t won an international trophy in his four and a half years as a top LCK pro. To solidify his status as a legend in LoL Esports, he needs to win the Summoner’s Cup in front of his home fans. During the summer, Chovy dominated the game, displaying his early game dominance and dealing the third most damage of any LCK mid laner. With his star-studded team, he is ready to capture greatness after three consecutive regional trophies.
Zhuo “Knight” Ding – JD Gaming
Knight, from Top Esports to JD Gaming, has been a powerful force. In the summer, he led all LPL mid laners in kills and average damage to champions per game. With his unmatched mechanics, fearlessness, and decision-making, he is the perfect X-factor for JDG’s championship-bound squad. After dominating the competition in China, Knight aims to win the grand slam: back-to-back regional championships, MSI, and a Worlds title.
Lee “Scout” Ye-chan – LNG Esports
Scout, a former Summoner’s Cup winner with Edward Gaming, has returned to his home country to make his mark once again. During the summer, he had impressive stats, including the third-most kills, highest KDA, and high damage numbers in his role. With reliable teammates like Tarzan and Gala, Scout is poised for a deep run and to establish himself among the best mid laners in history.
Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong – KT Rolster
Bdd might not be well-known to casual fans, but he has been a consistent rock for KT Rolster. He had the highest KDA of any LCK mid laner during the summer and can hold his own against other top mid lane stars. Although not a pop-off threat, he is a reliable player that KT Rolster can rely on.
Heo “ShowMaker” Su – Dplus KIA
ShowMaker, a World Champion with Dplus KIA, is still a formidable mid laner. He led the LCK in average damage to champions per minute and has the second-most kills in his role. Alongside Canyon, they form one of the most dangerous mid-jungle duos in the tournament.
Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok – T1
No mid laner ranking would be complete without Faker, the GOAT of League of Legends. While his mechanical skills have somewhat regressed, his leadership skills and impact on T1 cannot be understated. He elevates his teammates and has a great chance at adding another trophy to his extensive collection.
