Top Esports Takes the Lead with 61 Kills in the First Half of Worlds 2020 Group Stage

China’s Top Esports Dominating the 2020 League of Legends World Championship Group Stage

After an intense week of competition at the 2020 League of Legends World Championship, several teams have proven themselves as top contenders at the tournament. In terms of success, aggression has played a crucial role, as demonstrated by China’s Top Esports. With a star-studded lineup, they have emerged as the group stage’s most dominant team, boasting an impressive 61 kills, according to Oracle’s Elixir.

Top Esports, China’s first seed, has shown exceptional performance in their first three games at Worlds. They have yet to lose a game in a group that includes Korea’s DRX, North America’s FlyQuest, and the LCL’s Unicorns of Love.

A key factor contributing to Top Esports’ success is their willingness to engage in fights and their strategic teamfighting abilities, which are among the best in the world. Their team KDA of 1.97 ranks second overall, just behind LCK’s first seed, Damwon Gaming.

Additionally, Top Esports has maintained a remarkable average of 0.96 kills per minute across their last three matches. This means that nearly every minute of gameplay results in a kill, whether it be secured by Top Esports or their opponents.

Superstar mid laner Knight and top laner 369 have been instrumental in Top Esports’ success, each contributing 17 kills. Notably, 369 leads all top laners in kills, while Knight ranks second among mid laners, only surpassed by LGD Gaming’s Xiye.

With an undefeated record of 3-0, it seems unlikely that Top Esports will slow down as they strive for a spot in the knockout stage. Widely considered as one of the favorites to win Worlds, opposing teams should be prepared for intense early skirmishes if they face this formidable team on Summoner’s Rift.
