Top 3 LEC teams with highest death count during 2021 Spring Split regular season: Fnatic, Astralis, and MAD Lions

Top LEC Teams with the Most Deaths in the 2021 Spring Split

The European League of Legends fans had an exciting 2021 Spring Split, which lasted for eight weeks. Now, let’s take a look at some interesting stats from the regular season. In terms of deaths, some notable LEC teams found themselves at the top of the list.

Fnatic, with a whopping 307 deaths in 18 games, led all teams in this category. Fnatic had a KDA of 0.92 and a 50-percent win rate throughout the regular season, as reported by Oracle’s Elixir. Despite a less than stellar performance, Fnatic still has a chance to make a comeback through the playoffs in the lower bracket.

Fnatic’s aggressive playstyle contributes significantly to their high death numbers. They love to play aggressively and take risks, but this approach often results in costly mistakes that swing games against them. The team has struggled with consistency, experiencing both highs and lows across the board.

Astralis, on the other hand, had a tough season with only 295 deaths as a team. With a 6-12 record, they ended the regular season in ninth place. Astralis underwent a significant roster swap, with MagiFelix replacing Nukeduck in the mid lane. Despite this change, the team consistently struggled early in the game, illustrated by their disappointing average gold difference of -1,447 at 15 minutes, according to Oracle’s Elixir.

Last but not least, MAD Lions also had a high number of deaths in the LEC, primarily due to their love for skirmishes. Their games often have a high number of kills, either resulting from their aggression or their opponents’ aggression. MAD Lions boast the second-highest average combined kills per minute in the league at 0.92 kills.

With a 10-8 record, MAD Lions have shown that they are not afraid to engage in fights with other teams. If given the opportunity, they will certainly turn the game into a brawl.

Both Fnatic and MAD Lions are now preparing for the playoffs, where they aim to make deep runs this spring. However, if they want to give tough competition to the top teams in the LEC, they might need to refine their fighting style a bit during this two-week break.
