Tian guides FunPlus Phoenix to victory against Rare Atom in 2021 LPL Spring Split playoffs

FunPlus Phoenix Defeats Rare Atom in a Dominant 3-1 Series

FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) dealt a heavy blow to Rare Atom (RA) in the playoffs of the 2021 LPL Spring Split. Leading the charge for FPX, Tian showcased his skill with three different champions in the League of Legends series and secured two out of three MVP votes.

FPX’s Versatile Playstyle Makes Them Hard to Ban Out

Throughout the series, FPX demonstrated their ability to distribute carries across their roster, making it difficult for their opponents to ban out a specific player. This strategic advantage allowed FPX to showcase their depth and versatility.

RA’s Unexpected Rise and FPX’s Effective Counterplay

RA was initially not considered strong contenders in the playoffs, but they surprised everyone with their consistent victories. However, FPX analyzed their opponents’ tactics and skillfully countered them, resulting in a convincing victory for FPX.

Tian’s Excellent Performance and Doinb’s Game-Changing Presence

In the first two games, Tian dominated his opponents with champions like Udyr and Volibear, securing early-game objectives and pressuring opposing laners. Although Tian had a lackluster performance in the third game, he quickly returned to form in the next match. In the final game, Doinb controlled the game’s pace with his roaming plays as Kled, providing gold for his teammates and earning the MVP vote.

The Road Ahead for FPX and JD Gaming

With this victory, FPX advances to face JD Gaming on April 5. Both teams have shown resilience throughout the split, with JDG being the reigning LPL champions and FPX displaying their championship-winning form from 2019. The upcoming series promises intense competition as both teams reveal their strengths.

The LPL playoffs will continue with Team WE vs. Suning on April 4 at 4am CT.
