These Are the 5 Playoff Teams for LCK Spring Split

The 2019 LCK Spring Split Playoff Teams Have Been Decided

After 10 weeks of intense matches, the five teams competing in the 2019 LCK Spring Split playoffs have been determined. There are some new teams in the mix, adding excitement to the competition.

youtube video Griffin, with a record of 15-3, is unsurprisingly waiting in the finals. Considered one of the best teams to not qualify for the 2018 World Championship, Griffin dominated the LCK throughout the spring season. They stumbled slightly in week eight with the arrival of Patch 9.5, which affected their performance.

Coming in second place is SK Telecom T1, the former global giants. They secured a spot in the semifinals with their second-place finish. SKT has completely revamped their roster after a disappointing 2018 season. Known as the SKT “dream team,” the three-time world champions are aiming to regain their former glory by winning their first LCK title in two years.

Kingzone DragonX defied expectations by finishing the regular season in third place. Led by former KT Rolster AD carry Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu, Kingzone came close to tying with SKT for second place. Like SKT, Kingzone are also former LCK champions, and they are determined to qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational and redeem their organization for lackluster international performances.

The playoffs will kick off with the best-of-three wildcard match between the LCK’s two newest teams: DAMWON Gaming and SANDBOX Gaming. These teams qualified for the playoffs in their inaugural split after outperforming established LCK teams like KT, Gen.G, and Afreeca Freecs. Both DAMWON and SANDBOX have a roster of rookies, and whichever team advances from this wildcard match will be one step closer to achieving the coveted royal road.

The LCK playoffs will begin with the DAMWON and SANDBOX wildcard match on April 3.
