The latest League update reveals the Infinity Edge has become unexpectedly dominating

The New Infinity Edge: A Game Changer for League of Legends

Imagine Yasuo with quadrupled critical strike chance and a fifth of his attacks dealing True Damage. Well, get ready, because the new Infinity Edge has arrived on the PBE!

In terms of stats, the new Infinity Edge has 10 more AD than its predecessor, totaling at 80. However, it no longer provides a flat boost to crit chance or crit strike damage. Instead, it doubles your current crit chance and converts 20 percent of your crit strike damage into True Damage.

Although this item seems incredibly strong for most champions, it will likely go through some major changes before reaching the live game. It’s hard to imagine it will pass all the balancing tests at Riot without adjustments.

Conflicting Changes with Riot’s Message

This new item not only amplifies the power of crit builds, but it also contradicts the recent announcement by Riot regarding ADC changes. Riot claimed that these changes would enable marksmen to break free from traditional crit-carry builds in every game. The new Infinity Edge, however, reinforces the importance of crit builds instead of offering an alternative.

The Nightmare-Fuel That is Yasuo

Yasuo already has a passive that doubles his crit chance. With the new Infinity Edge, there is a possibility that his crit chance could be quadrupled, granting him guaranteed crits and turning them into True Damage. This potential buff for Yasuo is definitely frightening.

Although other ADC item changes were introduced on the PBE, such as Stormrazor and Last Whisper, they are overshadowed by the massive buff to the Infinity Edge. These changes are scheduled for Patch 8.10 in two weeks, if they make it through testing without alterations.
