The K/DA craze continues: Akali to receive her own Prestige skin now

Akali to Receive Prestige Edition Skin in League of Legends

Following Kai’Sa’s K/DA skin, Akali is set to receive her own unique Prestige edition skin in the game League of Legends.

The skin, which was released on the PBE today, features stunning splash art. However, not much is known about this special version of K/DA Akali. Previously, Prestige K/DA Kai’Sa was awarded to players who turned in a large number of Worlds tokens during the in-game Worlds event and the subsequent after party event. Therefore, it is expected that Akali’s Prestige edition skin will also be tied to an event or missions in some way. However, details about the specific event or missions remain a mystery.

One possibility is that the skin will be released at the start of the 2019 ranked season, similar to how Prestige Kai’Sa was closely associated with a competitive event. Alternatively, it could be a reward for a specific currency earned during an upcoming winter event, if there is one. However, there is no rule that dictates it must be tied to a competitive event.

There is a chance that a winter event will take place, though. Alongside Prestige Akali, several winter-themed skins including Mundo, Neeko, Soraka, and Master Yi were also added to the PBE. While skins themselves do not guarantee an event, it is the only available evidence at the moment.

Regardless, this Prestige edition skin is currently undergoing testing in Patch 8.24. Therefore, the earliest it could be released is approximately two weeks from now.
