The Jungle Champion with the Highest Pick Rate in LoL Patch 13.8 Demonstrates One of the Lowest Win Rates for the Role

Lee Sin: The Popular Champion with a Low Win Rate

In the world of League of Legends, Lee Sin is undoubtedly one of the most beloved champions. However, it appears that many players still have a lot to learn when it comes to mastering Runeterra’s favorite Blind Monk.

According to statistics gathered by U.GG, Lee Sin topped the charts as the most played jungler in Patch 13.8, accounting for a 14.5 percent play rate among Platinum-ranked and higher players. Unfortunately, despite his popularity, Lee Sin also has one of the lowest win rates in the jungle role. Out of the 222,000 global games he was picked in, he managed to secure victory in just over 48 percent of those matches.

With his flashy kit and potential for game-changing plays, Lee Sin has always been a favorite among both casual and professional League players. However, many players fail to realize the difficulty involved in executing his powerful moves. The dream of perfectly timing a combination to kick the enemy carry into your own team and secure victory in a teamfight can quickly crumble if the execution is off or if your teammates are not in a position to follow up.

It’s also important to understand that diving into an enemy team composition without proper consideration can lead to immediate death if the timing is wrong or if your team is not in a position to capitalize on your engage. As a result, players must not only master Lee Sin’s abilities and damage potential, but they must also learn how to coordinate with their teammates and their chosen champions.

In Patch 13.8, Lee Sin’s play rate reached its lowest point in the last five patches as players shifted their attention to champions with more reliable engage, such as Jarvan IV or Hecarim, or those with a focus on damage, like Kha’Zix. These champions offer simpler mechanics and clearer roles compared to the complex and versatile Lee Sin, requiring players to have a deep understanding of how to navigate and impact teamfights.

As for Patch 13.9, there will be no changes for Lee Sin, but players can expect a range of other adjustments when the update goes live on Wednesday, May 3.
