The deciding match for the MSI 2023 play-in stage finale has been determined.

Golden Guardians and PSG Talon to Compete in Last Chance Qualifier for MSI 2023 Bracket Stage

The final series of the 2023 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational play-in stage is set. After successful showings against LOUD and Movistar R7, Golden Guardians and PSG Talon will face off in the Last Chance Qualifier. The winner of this showdown will secure the last spot in the bracket stage alongside Bilibili Gaming from China and Europe’s G2 Esports. Despite being dropped into the lower bracket, both teams are entering the match with confidence.

Golden Guardians’ Dominance Over R7:

Golden Guardians, the underdogs from North America, were sent to the lower bracket after a loss to BLG in a full, three-game series. However, they quickly turned the tables on R7, taking early advantages through kills and superior objective control. With their impressive performance, they managed to defeat R7 in two games that didn’t even last 25 minutes.

PSG Talon’s Victory Against LOUD:

PSG Talon, on the other hand, faced a tougher challenge against LOUD. However, they emerged victorious by showcasing excellent objective control and superior teamfighting. While LOUD only managed to secure early Rift Heralds and a single dragon, PSG Talon secured seven dragons, a Rift Herald, and two Baron buffs.

The Key Player for PSG Talon:

One standout player for PSG Talon was their talented jungle prospect, Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia. He played a crucial role as Sejuani and Kindred, contributing 10 kills, 23 assists, and only two deaths. His well-placed Glacial Prisons and engaging skills set up his team for success.

Both Golden Guardians and PSG Talon have showcased their abilities against formidable opponents. Now, they will battle it out on Sunday, May 7, at 6am CT for a chance to advance to the bracket stage of MSI 2023.
