‘The Curse Unveiled’: Riot Reveals How LoL Player Titles Became a Hindrance in Fresh Display

Riot Games Explains Why Player Titles Won’t be Added to League of Legends

Riot Games recently addressed a player’s suggestion about adding player titles to League of Legends. However, tests revealed that these titles would be too distracting and clutter the screen. The developer referred to this issue as a “cursed problem.”

In a Reddit thread, the developer discussed ways to enhance the game’s features and provide a greater sense of merit. The possibility of showcasing Challenger Titles was proposed but ultimately dismissed due to its impact on gameplay.

Although player titles were not feasible, Riot Games explored the use of Emotes as another way to display achievements. However, this feature was also abandoned as it didn’t meet the desired emotional significance.

Even though these ideas didn’t work out, Riot Games continues to introduce new features to allow players to showcase their achievements and enhance their sense of merit in League of Legends.

Challenge Tokens Introduced for Tracking Progress

In May 2023, Riot Games added Challenge Tokens to League profiles. These tokens enable players to monitor their progress for challenges, with the option to display three tokens at a time on their profiles. Players have the freedom to complete various in-game activities to complete challenges and highlight their accomplishments.

Riot Games Responds to Player Complaints about Multi-Disenchant Feature

Riot Games also responded to a player’s complaint about the multi-disenchant feature, which was considered unpredictable. The developer explained the decision-making process behind the feature’s design and acknowledged the need for simplification to ensure its timely release alongside the upcoming Essence Emporium event.
