The Brokenness of Banner of Command Extends Beyond ARAM

Banner of Command: The Most Overpowered Item in League of Legends

In the world of League of Legends, the Banner of Command item has quickly become the most broken item in the game. It used to be an item that was rarely used, only making sense for certain champions or strategies. However, recent changes have turned it into an overpowered item that has caused Riot Games to take action.

Riot Games has announced that the ARAM game mode will be hotfixed to remove the Banner of Command item entirely. This decision was made due to the item’s ability to buff an entire wave of minions in ARAM, making it impossible for opponents to counter.

With the removal of Banner of Command from ARAM, players have discovered that the item is just as insane on Summoner’s Rift. It has become a must-have item due to its cost-effectiveness and the benefits it provides to minions.

A few patches ago, a mistake by Riot caused the item to stack with the Baron buff, turning cannon minions into unstoppable forces. Although this was fixed, Banner of Command still provides incredible stats for a very low cost and its ability to make minions immune to magic damage makes it oppressive in mid lane and a powerful tool for controlling side lanes.

To address the issue, Riot removed the magic damage immunity in Patch 8.11 and replaced it with a flat damage reduction against champions. This change, however, has not solved the problem as the amount of damage reduction is still too high and makes it incredibly difficult for tanks to clear banner minions.

The League community has started to notice the impact of this change and has taken to social media to share their frustrations. It is clear that only the most daring players would rush this item in a ranked game.

For those brave enough to try and exploit the power of Banner of Command, pairing it with the Ingenious Hunter rune is highly recommended. This rune provides item cooldown reduction, which can further decrease the cooldown of the item’s promotion ability. With the right setup, players can promote a minion every other wave, creating an unstoppable force of minions.

There are ways to counter this new strategy, such as using the Minion Dematerializer rune or actively controlling minion waves to avoid being overwhelmed by Banner minions. However, it may be challenging to execute these strategies in solo queue or even in professional play.

While the initial shock of the item’s power may wear off over time, it is crucial for players to focus on controlling side lanes and preventing themselves from being overrun by Banner minions.
