Riot Games Shatters Viewership Records in LEC Spring Split

After an exciting 2019 Spring Split, Riot Games announced that the LEC has broken multiple viewership records this season. Compared to last year, there has been a remarkable 50% increase in viewership during this Spring Split.

The Rise of LEC Viewership

Throughout the season, over two million hours of LEC were watched each week. The final week of the split saw a record-breaking 355,000 fans tuning in simultaneously, surpassing the previous week nine record from 2015.

The Battle for the Championship

Origen, who made a grand return to the LEC this year after leaving in 2016, will be competing against G2 Esports for a spot in the finals. It’s a significant storyline that has attracted many viewers this split.

A Thrilling Season with Multiple Storylines

The LEC Spring Split has been filled with exciting narratives. From the rise of G2 Esports and Fnatic to the disappointing performance of Misfits Gaming, there has been plenty of excitement for fans to follow.

With rookies making their mark and veterans proving their skills, the level of competition has been intense. It’s no wonder that the viewership has been high, as the action on the Rift has been some of the best ever seen.

Fans can expect the season finale to be a must-watch event, taking place in Rotterdam on April 13 and 14.
