TF Blade Defeats Locodoco, Scarra, and Boxbox in Twitch Rivals

Twitch Hosting Competitive Gaming Tournaments

Twitch is currently hosting a series of competitive gaming tournaments that bring together popular streamers from various gaming communities. The first tournament, which started today, features the popular game League of Legends. Streamers like Albert “Boxbox” Zheng, Choi “Locodoco” Yoon-seop, William “scarra” Li, and Ashkan “TF Blade” Homayouni are competing in a best-of-three series. In the first match, TF Blade’s team, Sudden Impact, handed team SAT T1 their first loss of the tournament and the first loss of the series. TF Blade’s exceptional performance in the game led to the victory.

A Unique Format for Twitch Rivals Tours

This tournament stands out from most esports tournaments due to its unique format. Each streamer is streaming the tournament from their own perspective and channel. While there is an official Twitch Rivals broadcast with analysts Mark “MarkZ” Zimmerman and Christian “IWDominate” Rivera, the footage they use is simply taken from the competing streamers’ broadcasts. This allows viewers to watch the tournament from multiple perspectives and enjoy the unique style of each streamer.

The featured matchup of the series was between TF Blade and Boxbox in the top lane. TF Blade is considered one of the best solo queue players in the world, consistently ranking number one in solo queues across different regions. Boxbox is also well-known in the League community as an exceptional Riven player. Although Boxbox was able to win a few one-on-one fights against TF Blade during the laning phase, TF Blade ultimately carried his team to victory.

Boxbox’s team, including Scarra, was able to tie up the series in game two, creating a more competitive matchup for the viewers. As the final round approaches, there is a lot at stake for both teams, as the winner of the series will also secure the first series win of the Twitch Rivals tournament.
