Team2G releases 8 streamers following convention celebration

League of Legends Streamers Dropped from Team2G Following LEc2 Convention

Last weekend, the LEc2 Convention took place in Fredericksburg, Virginia, giving League of Legends fans on the East Coast the opportunity to meet popular streaming personalities and celebrities. Team2G, a group of popular YouTubers and streamers, sent 17 members to the event. However, eight of them were dropped from the team due to their behavior during the convention.

Back in April, Team2G made headlines after trademarking the term “sub wars” and demanding a fee for its use on Twitch. The organization faced criticism for this move. Now, the excessive partying by some of the Team2G members during the LEc2 Convention has led to their removal from the team.

Conflicting Accounts

The decision to drop these streamers was made by team manager Cher Gambino, who claimed that they were late for their appearances at the promotional booth. However, the cut team members have a different story, stating that the hours expected of them were unreasonable. They were required to be available for the entire 14 hours that the convention was open, from 9am to 11pm. According to the streamers, they were not aware of this expectation and arrived well in advance of their scheduled autograph signing time.

While the organization accuses the streamers of excessive partying, the cut team members deny making any threats and claim that Gambino herself encouraged the party. They attribute the noise complaints to the manager’s purchase of a karaoke machine.

Turbulent Events

The second day of the event started with Gambino calling the streamers, upset that no one was at the booth. She demanded that everyone wake up before the agreed time of 11am. However, according to the streamers, Gambino made it sound like an emergency, causing one of them to rush to the lobby without proper shoes. Gambino berated the team and even threatened to quit Team2G before ultimately deciding to stay.

Later in the day, Gambino left a series of messages in their Skype group expressing her embarrassment and frustration with the team. She decided to remove those she felt were not taking the team seriously as a business. The streamers who were dropped include Shadowila, Cemantics, Obezianka, SoSleepyy, Luuap, QMG Saint, Aplatypuss, and JenaUrfLord. Interestingly, some of the individuals responsible for the noise complaints were not cut from the team.

Disputes over Contracts

According to Gambino, contract violations also played a part in the decision to drop these streamers. However, they deny any knowledge of signing contracts and claim that there were no written agreements. They argue that Gambino signed contracts on their behalf without showing them the documents.

One of the released streamers describes a shift in the team’s environment, from a supportive community to a more money-driven atmosphere. Gambino declined to comment on the situation.
