Liquid Dominates TSM in LCS Summer Split Opener
Fresh off their success at the Mid Season Invitational, Team Liquid made a statement in their LCS Summer Split debut by defeating TSM in under 30 minutes. Despite being burnt out from MSI, Liquid’s superior gameplay and aggressive strategy secured them a convincing victory.
Liquid’s Proactive Approach
Liquid showcased their proactive approach to the game, with strong pressure in the mid and bot lanes. This allowed Liquid’s jungler, Xmithie, to focus on assisting the top laner, Impact, resulting in a successful gank that secured first blood.
Although TSM’s bot lane had an opportunity for redemption after a poor showing in the LCS finals, Liquid dominated the trading and came out on top in every exchange. Doublelift, Liquid’s AD carry, expressed surprise at TSM’s passive playstyle.
A Change in Playstyle
Liquid’s experience at MSI made them realize the importance of taking more calculated risks. In NA, a 70-30 play is considered a good one, but internationally, teams that are willing to take even 60-40 or 50-50 plays have a higher chance of success. Liquid applied this international playstyle, overwhelming TSM and securing a decisive victory.
