Gen.G emerged victorious in their first match at the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, defeating 100 Thieves in a dominant fashion.

Gen.G showcased their superior gameplay throughout the game, particularly in team fights, as they outclassed their opponents from 100 Thieves.

The Korean team took control of the bot lane early on, with Ruler’s Aphelios outperforming FBI. Although the mid-jungle duo of Chovy and Peanut had a slow start, they quickly gained momentum and didn’t die throughout the series.

Despite 100 Thieves finding success in the top lane with Ssumday winning skirmishes against Doran, Gen.G’s strategic gameplay allowed them to capitalize on positional advantages. This ultimately led to their victory in less than 30 minutes.

With this win, Gen.G moves up in Group D with a 1-1 record, while 100 Thieves land in the last spot. Both teams have one more match tomorrow before entering the next phase of the tournament.

100 Thieves will face Royal Never Give Up, while Gen.G will play CTBC Flying Oyster.
