Team Dragon Knights offer Altec an opportunity for extension

Team Dragon Knights Interested in Buying Out AD Carry Altec’s Contract

According to sources close to the organization, Team Dragon Knights is looking to buyout AD carry Johnny “Altec” Ru from his contract with Winterfox. Ru, who is planning to leave Winterfox after the team was relegated by the Dragon Knights, could potentially return to the team that knocked him out of the LCS. He would replace Korean player Lee “LouisXGeeGee” Sung-jin in the AD carry role.

The Journey of Lee Sung-jin

In September 2014, Lee Sung-jin came to America with the goal of qualifying for the 2015 North American Expansion Tournament with Team Dragon Knights. However, due to internal issues, the team was dropped from the tournament, leading to a disbandment. Lee Sung-jin remained as the sole member of the team.

Building a New Team

Team Dragon Knights reformed with Lee Sung-jin as the centerpiece, bringing in experienced players such as Shin “Seraph” Woo-yeong and Kevin “Kez” Jeon. They also added Korean player Seo “Kyle” Ji-sun for the mid lane and Andy “Smoothie” Ta as the support. The team aimed to qualify for the North American League Challenger Series.

Ru’s Reputation and Performance

Altec is highly regarded as one of the top marksmen in North America. He gained recognition during his time with Cloud9 Tempest, qualifying for the Promotion Tournament. Although he fell short against Evil Geniuses, his performance caught the attention of Winterfox, who signed him to replace retired AD Peter “yellowpete” Wüppen.

As of now, both Winterfox and Team Dragon Knights have yet to comment on the potential buyout.
