Tahm Kench’s Updated Abilities are Now on League’s PBE

Tahm Kench Mini-Rework Revealed: What to Expect

The much-anticipated mini-rework for Tahm Kench in League of Legends is finally here. Fans have been eagerly waiting for this update, as it is expected to make Tahm Kench more viable in solo queue matches. Surrenderat20 mod Spideraxe has compiled the updated tooltips for Tahm Kench, revealing the full ability kit that is currently being tested on the PBE (Public Beta Environment).

Updated Ability Kit: What’s Changed?

Riot had already hinted at some changes, including swapping Tahm’s Devour ability to his ultimate and giving his new W (Abyssal Dive) an AoE knock-up. The updated ability kit offers more insight into the changes. While some aspects of Tahm Kench’s passive (An Acquired Taste) and E ability (Thick Skin) remain largely unchanged, there are notable tweaks to his Q ability (Tongue Lash). Tongue Lash now includes a self-heal based on a percentage of his missing health and applies a passive stack when hitting an enemy champion. However, the most significant alterations are seen in his W and ultimate abilities.

Changes to W (Abyssal Dive) and R (Devour)

Tahm Kench’s new W ability, Abyssal Dive, looks similar to his old ultimate, but with a few adjustments. The toad dives down and reappears at a targeted location, dealing damage and knocking up all enemies in the area for one second. Devoured allies can still be taken along for the ride, but the ability’s range is now shorter compared to when it was his ultimate. As for Devour (R), enemies consumed will take more damage than before, while allies who are Devoured will be granted a shield for up to 2.5 seconds after being spit out.

What’s Next?

With Tahm Kench’s mini-update hitting the PBE, it’s likely that the changes will be implemented on the live servers soon. Fans can look forward to trying out the revamped Tahm Kench in their solo queue matches.
