T1’s 2022 Worlds Jersey Brings Back Classic SKT Memories

T1 Reveals Uniforms for League of Legends Worlds 2022

T1 unveiled their uniforms for the upcoming 2022 League of Legends World Championship today. The new kits are sure to bring back memories for longtime fans.

T1’s Worlds jerseys prominently feature the logo of SK Telecom, the former naming rights holder of the renowned League of Legends team. Although SK Telecom no longer owns the rights to the T1 name, they are still a major sponsor of the team.

The inclusion of the “SK Telecom” logo pays homage to the mid-2010s when the T1 organization was known as SK Telecom T1 in the professional League of Legends scene. T1 achieved all three of their World Championships under the SKT banner between 2013 and 2016.

This season, Worlds is being held in North America for the first time since 2016. In that season, SKT defeated formidable opponents such as Royal Never Give Up, Rox Tigers, and Samsung Galaxy on their path to winning the championship.

“We wanted to add a bit of 2016 nostalgia magic to the 2022 World’s edition by adding the large SKT logo. 2016 saw us visit and win in San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles – we hope to do the same in 2022,” tweeted T1 CEO Joe Marsh.

Throughout their last two Worlds appearances, T1 made it to the semifinals but failed to reach the tournament’s grand final since 2017.

T1’s Worlds jerseys also feature the organization’s logo in gold above the right breast, along with the Nike “swoosh” logo near the left shoulder. T1 partnered with Nike as their official apparel partner in 2020.

T1 will kick off their Worlds journey on October 7th when the tournament’s group stage commences in New York City.
