T1 Matches Own 2015 Record with 14-Game Winning Streak, Defeats KT Rolster

T1 Continues Dominance in Telecom War, Extending Winning Streak to 14 Games

T1 emerged victorious in the highly-anticipated rematch against KT Rolster today, securing a 2-0 win. This latest triumph marks T1’s 14th consecutive victory in the LCK, matching the record they set in 2015 under the SK Telecom T1 name.

A Legacy of Success

T1, formerly known as SK Telecom T1, is no stranger to success in the world of League of Legends esports. With three World Championships, two Mid-Season Invitationals, and multiple LCK splits under their belt, they have established themselves as one of the most decorated organizations in the industry. Despite their branding change, Faker, one of the team’s star players, has played a crucial role in T1’s campaign in 2022, just as he did during their record-setting 2015 run.

A Hard-Fought Victory

The matchup between T1 and KT was closely contested, with KT displaying fierce determination. In the first match, KT took an early advantage by catching T1 in the jungle. However, T1’s strong laning and objective control allowed them to build a significant lead. Both teams heavily relied on midgame skirmishes and traded kills. KT secured the Baron buff and snowballed their advantage, but T1 came back with solid teamfights and strategic picks. With their opponents at a numbers disadvantage and long death cooldowns, T1 capitalized on the opportunity to secure the win in game one.

In the next match, KT started with an advantage by securing the first blood on Zeus. They showcased excellent synergy and consistently won fights against T1. Despite this, T1 stayed in the game through trades and dragon control.

In a pivotal teamfight in the jungle at the 28-minute mark, KT attempted to catch T1 off-guard. However, T1’s precision in strategic decision-making and mechanical skills allowed them to come out on top. From that point on, T1 displayed a different level of gameplay, reading and punishing every move KT made. A crucial mistake by Aiming’s Kai’Sa gave T1 the upper hand and ultimately allowed them to secure a clean sweep with a 2-0 victory.

Looking Ahead

With the conclusion of the LCK Spring Split 2022 week seven, fans can look forward to the next game between DRX and Nongshim RedForce on March 9, 2022.
