T1 Makes Unprecedented Achievement at Worlds 2023 Surpassing All LoL Teams

T1 Proves Itself as the Best: Dominates the 2023 League of Legends World Championship

T1 has left no doubt about which region is currently the best in League of Legends. In their journey to win the 2023 World Championship title, T1 defeated all four teams from China’s LPL, establishing their dominance in an age-old inter-regional rivalry. This is a historic achievement, as no team has ever beaten four teams from a single region in a single Worlds run. T1 emerged victorious against Bilibili Gaming, LNG Esports, JD Gaming, and Weibo Gaming in different stages of the tournament.

T1’s dominance is unmatched. They swept through the tournament, achieving an impressive 13-2 game record. In the knockout round, they only dropped one game. Their phenomenal performance in defeating four LPL teams in near-perfect fashion makes their run stand out as one of the most remarkable in the history of League of Legends.

The last team to achieve such a feat was FunPlus Phoenix in 2019, who beat all three representatives from the LEC on their way to a Worlds title. However, T1’s accomplishment of defeating four teams from a single region is unprecedented.

Looking ahead to the 2024 offseason, it becomes apparent that Korea stands as the most consistent region in the world. The LCK has emerged victorious in three out of the first four World Championships of the 2020s, with each title won by a different team. Despite the strength of the LPL and its deep roster of teams, T1’s dominant performance on the international stage tilts the scales in Korea’s favor.
