T1 Sweeps Liiv SANDBOX in LCK Summer Split Playoffs
T1 emerged victorious in a 3-0 clean sweep against Liiv SANDBOX in the first round of the 2021 LCK Summer Split playoffs. The return of Teddy to the starting roster proved to be a game-changer for T1, as he secured the first MVP vote with his incredible performance on Ashe. From securing the first blood to landing crucial ultimates, Teddy set the stage for T1’s success.
Faker and Canna Shine with MVP Performances
Faker and Canna also received MVP votes for their standout performances. Faker dominated the mid lane on LeBlanc, securing kills left and right and finishing with an impressive KDA of 8/1/6. Canna, on the other hand, made game-deciding plays on Gnar in the final match, helping T1 secure the clean sweep.
Highlights of the Matches
In the first match, T1 showcased their dominance with a strong performance. They secured kills in the bottom lane and snowballed their way to victory. Despite Liiv SANDBOX’s efforts, they could only obtain two towers and a dragon before succumbing to defeat in just 26 minutes.
The second match saw LSB banning crucial picks from T1’s first victory. However, T1 adapted by picking LeBlanc for Faker and forming a strong bot lane duo with Aphelios and Braum. Though T1 had an early lead, LSB’s scaling composition kept them in the game for a while. Eventually, T1 secured the victory by obtaining the Infernal Dragon Soul and two Barons.
The final match was a bit more challenging for T1, as they made a few mistakes. However, their teamfighting composition with Gnar, Orianna, and Leona proved to be strong enough to win crucial teamfights and secure the 3-0 sweep.
Upcoming Match against Gen.G
T1 will now face Gen.G on Sunday, Aug. 22 at 3am CT. Their goal is to continue their impressive form and secure another clean sweep to advance to the finals and compete for another LCK title.
