T1 dominates and advances to MSI 2022 finals with flawless 3-0 victory over G2.

T1 Sweeps G2 Esports to Advance to League of Legends MSI 2022 Finals

T1 dominated G2 Esports in a 3-0 victory, securing their place in the League of Legends MSI 2022 grand finals against Royal Never Give Up. The finals will take place tomorrow in Busan, South Korea.

T1 had an impressive season, remaining undefeated in the LCK Spring Split and setting high expectations. However, at MSI 2022, they faced defeats against G2 and RNG in the rumble stages, raising doubts about their championship chances. Meanwhile, G2 also had an undefeated record in the LEC playoffs but struggled against smaller teams during the rumble stage, calling into question their performance in the tournament.

The stakes were high for both teams in the MSI semifinals. Their last encounter was in 2019 when G2 emerged victorious. T1 sought revenge, while G2 aimed to repeat history and eliminate the South Korean host from the tournament.

In the first match, Faker selected Tristana, a champion he has never lost with throughout his career. Despite G2’s attempts to target T1’s bot lane, T1 used the advantage in other lanes to secure an early lead. Faker, heavily supported by his team, became the late-game carry that T1 needed. They won the first match in just 24 minutes, with Faker boasting an impressive KDA of 5/1/2.

The second match started with an early advantage for T1, but G2 fought back and punished their overextended aggression. Despite securing more kills and objectives, G2 couldn’t overcome T1’s gold advantage. T1 sealed their victory with a Baron buff at 26 minutes, putting them at match point.

In the third and final match, G2 faced a do-or-die situation. T1 secured a small lead through an early teamfight and continued to dominate with their strong skirmish combination. They ended the match convincingly, cracking the opponent’s Nexus at 20 minutes.

With this victory, T1 secured their spot in the MSI 2022 grand finals, where they will once again face RNG. Faker will be playing in his first international finals since MSI 2017, and T1 aims to secure their third MSI title.

While T1’s clean sweep over G2 boosts their morale heading into the finals, the LPL representatives, RNG, will provide a tough challenge as they defend their MSI title against the Korean hosts.
