Sylas’ Worldwide Ban Has Been Lifted

League of Legends Sylas Makes a Comeback in Competitive Play

The highly anticipated return of League of Legends champion, Sylas, is finally here. After a temporary disable from competitive play due to game-impacting bugs, Sylas is now ready to make his mark once again.

Just two weeks ago, Sylas was globally disabled in competitive play due to several bugs. One bug prevented players from using his ultimate ability, as demonstrated by SDG’s Jiang “Changhong” Chang-Hong during a match between Bilibili Gaming and SinoDragon in the LPL. Another bug was discovered with Sylas’ W spell, where players would receive excessive health regeneration upon scoring a final blow.

The LEC’s league operations lead, Maximilian Schmidt, provided details on the re-enable of Sylas. While each region has the autonomy to decide when to re-enable the champion for competitive play, it is expected that the LEC will see Sylas in action during the playoffs next week.

It is worth noting that Maximilian did mention that it is ultimately up to each region to determine whether or not Sylas should be re-enabled for competitive play.

The LEC playoffs are set to commence on March 29, with Fnatic facing off against Vitality in the opening match. This will be followed by Splyce vs. SK Gaming on March 30. These teams will be battling it out to secure a spot at the League of Legends European Championship final in Rotterdam, where the winner will receive 90 championship points.
