Sylas to Receive Buffs in the Upcoming Year

Riot plans to buff Sylas in 2020

The popular mid laner in League of Legends, Sylas, is facing a decline in solo queue. To address this issue, Riot has announced plans to buff Sylas in Patch 10.1 next year.

In competitive play, Sylas has had his moments and was often contested due to his effectiveness in team fights. However, in solo queue, he has struggled to find success.

Sylas currently has a disappointing 45-percent win rate in both the jungle and mid lane positions. He lacks damage and has a weak laning phase, making him vulnerable to abuse. Although his ultimate ability has potential in the late game, he rarely gets the chance to utilize it.

The challenge with Sylas is finding the right balance. He tends to swing from being underpowered to overpowered, making it difficult for Riot to find a compromise.

Riot’s focus with this buff is on Sylas’ passive ability and his Kingslayer (W) ability, which will be slightly nerfed to put him in a more balanced state.

The primary target AP ratio of Sylas’ Petricite Burst (Passive) will be increased from 20 to 25 percent. This change will allow him to deal more damage to his enemies and perform better throughout the game.

To counterbalance this buff, the mana cost of Kingslayer will be increased from 45/45/50/55/60 to 70/80/90/100/110. Sylas players will need to be cautious when engaging in team fights and manage their mana effectively.

These changes should provide a much-needed boost to Sylas’ damage, enabling him to burst down opponents more effectively.

It is important to note that these changes are tentative and may be subject to further adjustments before the new year.
