Sylas Struggles in League of Legends
Sylas, the newest champion in League of Legends, is currently experiencing a rough start since the release of Patch 9.3. Despite receiving a hotfix buff in Patch 9.2, his winrates remain low in the top lane, mid lane, and jungle after two weeks of acclimation for players.
Sylas Still at the Bottom
According to Champion.gg, a statistics website, Sylas still holds the lowest winrates in multiple roles even on the last day of Patch 9.2. Take a look at the screengrab below for more details:
Sylas in a Bad State
Sylas’s poor performance in multiple roles raises the question of why he is struggling despite having a strong set of abilities. With mobility, crowd control, a game-changing ultimate, self-sustain, high damage, and durability, Sylas seems to have all the tools to be a top-tier champion. However, these abilities are currently undertuned, resulting in his lackluster performance.
Potential Fixes for Sylas
Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends, has the opportunity to improve Sylas’s state by making adjustments to his numbers. Increasing his base damage and reducing the cooldown on his Q ability could make him more viable and provide better laning presence.
While Sylas enthusiasts may have to wait for these changes, it’s worth noting that in Patch 9.3, Sylas still outperforms the newly-nerfed Aatrox and Akali in terms of winrate. This gives some hope that Sylas’s situation may improve in the future.
