Surprising Upset as Current MSI Champions Stunned in 2021 LPL Summer Split

OMG Defeats Royal Never Give Up in Impressive LPL Summer Split Match

Oh My God (OMG) has emerged as a strong contender for a playoff spot in the 2021 LPL Summer Split. In an exciting series, OMG defeated Mid-Season Invitational champions Royal Never Give Up (RNG) with a 2-1 victory.

A Strong Start for OMG in the LPL Summer Split

Despite facing tough competition, OMG has started the LPL Summer Split on a high note. They have already faced three teams that made it to the playoffs in the previous split, including the eventual champions RNG. With two wins under their belt, OMG is performing remarkably well compared to their previous split.

New Carries Creme and Able Making a Difference

OMG’s improved performance can largely be attributed to their two new carries, Creme in the mid lane and Able as the ADC. Able, who previously played alongside the legendary ADC Uzi on RNG, is now showcasing his skills on OMG. His partnership with Creme has been instrumental in their success.

Great Drafting and Champion Selection

Creme’s expertise on assassins has influenced OMG’s draft and champion selections. In the current meta that favors AD mid lane champions, Creme has been able to play on his comfort picks. In the first game against RNG, Creme’s pick of Qiyana allowed OMG to create a high-burst damage composition that synergized well with the rest of the team.

Despite losing early to RNG’s experienced laning and macro play, OMG’s excellent draft kept them in contention. Creme’s creative use of Qiyana’s ultimate in teamfights, along with the support of his teammates, helped OMG secure crucial victories. Able’s outstanding performance in the first match further highlighted RNG’s defeat.

A Bright Future for OMG

In the final game, OMG continued their dominance, with Creme finishing with 10 kills and 17 assists. The young squad of OMG is now competing with top teams like RNG and FPX for high-seed playoff spots. This level of performance has not been seen from the organization since 2017.

Upcoming Matches for OMG

OMG’s next three matches against Rogue Warriors, Bilibili Gaming, and ThunderTalk Gaming are expected to be easier for them. These teams have not yet secured a win this split. Fans can tune in to the LPL’s Twitch or YouTube channel on Monday, June 28, to watch OMG as they continue their underdog journey.
