Surprising League of Legends Pick Propels Lower Tier Mid Lane Players to Success in Patch 13.13

Heimerdinger Sees Surprising Success in Iron Mid Lane

Lower ranked players in League of Legends often make unconventional picks, and in Patch 13.13, Iron mid lane players are finding success with a support mage.

Heimerdinger, traditionally played as a bot lane support, is currently the third-best pick in Iron’s mid lane with a win rate of 53.09%. This is surprising considering he is usually not played in this position. The top two picks are the standard mages Swain and Aurelion Sol.

While it may seem odd, Heimerdinger has been seeing some action on Summoner’s Rift in the mid lane, although he is primarily played as a support. In Platinum+ ranks, he has a win rate of 50.12% in the support role.

However, Heimerdinger’s lack of mobility and burst damage makes him vulnerable to mobile and aggressive opponents in the mid lane. Skilled mid laners can easily deal with his turrets, and with the help of a jungler, they can shut him down.

On the other hand, as a support champion in the bot lane, Heimerdinger provides a stable and safe experience. His turrets and projectiles annoy enemy bot laners, making it difficult for them to engage. This strategy, however, is not being used in Iron, where positioning and decision-making mistakes allow Heimerdinger to be a strong mid lane choice.

Changes in Patch 13.14 may affect Heimerdinger’s performance, so if you’re a Heimerdinger main looking for easy wins in lower rankings, take advantage of the current meta.
