Surprising Additions to Gravity and ROCCAT Rosters

Riot Games surprises with roster changes in week-one of LCS

Riot Games surprised fans yesterday with the release of the week-one rosters for all League Championship Series (LCS) teams. Brandon “Saintvicious” DiMarco announced last week that he played his last match, leaving a gap in the Gravity Gaming jungle. In Europe, ROCCAT struggled to gel as a team during the Spring Split of the LCS, leading to a change in the top lane.

New talent for Gravity Gaming and ROCCAT

Kang “Move” Min-su, a 20-year-old Korean jungler, will be joining Gravity Gaming. He previously played for AD Gaming, the secondary squad to Chinese team EDward Gaming. On the other hand, Steve Michels, who previously played for French side Team-LDLC, will be filling the top lane role for ROCCAT.

Unknown talent in the North American scene

This move brings a largely unknown talent to the North American scene, but it is not unexpected. The jungle position in North America has been lacking in talent. While Move is expected to be a mechanical upgrade over Saintvicious, the team may miss his shot calling abilities.

Potential for emerging talent

Although the replacements may not be the big names fans were hoping for, they have the potential to become rising talents in the LCS. Lee “Rush” Yoon-jae surprised many last season and became one of the top emerging talents in the LCS. Could Move do the same? In Europe, the Spring split saw a renaissance of top lane talent. Steve has the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of top laners like Huni and Cabochard.

Overall, these roster changes bring new talent to the LCS, and fans will be keeping a close eye on their performance in the upcoming weeks.
