Superstar support Mata achieves top three finishes in the LCK for 10 seasons

Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong: A Legendary Player in League of Legends

Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong is undoubtedly one of the greatest players in the history of League of Legends. His recent performance has further solidified his reputation as he continues to dominate the game.

On March 31, Mata finished the 2019 LCK Spring Split with SKT T1, securing second place. This marked his 10th consecutive season placing on a top-three team in Korea, an impressive achievement that spans over four and a half years. Throughout his career, Mata has played for several Korean teams, including MVP Ozone, Samsung Ozone, Samsung White (the 2014 World Champions), KT Rolster, and now SKT T1.

During this remarkable run, Mata has secured three first-place finishes, two second-place finishes, and five third-place finishes. He claimed victory in the LCK Summer Split championship last season with the KT Rolster superteam. However, his journey ended in the quarterfinals of Worlds 2018 against Invictus Gaming.

Notably, even when Mata switched regions and joined the LPL, he continued to find success in a foreign country. Although he faced some challenges with Vici Gaming, his fortunes changed when he joined Royal Never Give Up. Alongside Uzi, they won the 2016 Spring Split championship and qualified for Worlds.

Now, Mata is part of the revamped SKT T1 roster, which includes Faker, Teddy, Clid, and Khan. The team aims to reclaim their throne in the Korean League of Legends scene, although they face tough competition from Griffin. Can Mata and his teammates defeat the new kings of Korea in the LCK Spring Split Finals? Find out on Saturday, April 13.
