Summoner’s Rift in LoL season 2024: The Arrival of Void-themed Updates

The Void Invades in League of Legends’ 2024 Ranked Season

The upcoming ranked season in League of Legends has a dominant theme: the Void. The purple, monster-filled region of Runeterra will be infiltrating Summoner’s Rift with new enemies, landscape changes, and overall updates. From a revamped Baron Nashor to a rideable Rift Herald, the 2024 LoL season is bursting with exciting updates.

Baron Nashor Evolves into a Three-Headed Beast

The most powerful and infamous monster from the Void, Baron Nashor, is getting a fresh look in 2024. Now, he will have three different forms, each with unique abilities. The terrain and surroundings of Baron’s pit will also change depending on which version spawns. Get ready for an epic battle against the Hunting Baron, Territorial Baron, and the All-Seeing Baron.

Rift Herald Gets Some New Friends and Becomes Rideable

In 2024, the Rift Herald will introduce a new set of monsters called “Voidgrubs” that will replace the first Rift Herald in each game. Don’t worry, though, as they will still help take down towers with a stacking damage buff suitable for the early game. The biggest change is that you can now ride the Rift Herald, named Shelly, and charge her into towers for extra damage.

Blue Buff, Red Buff, and Scuttle Crab Level Up

The jungle camps in the next season will receive upgrades. Red and blue buffs will have Void-based evolutions that enhance their effects and apply them to the whole team. The Scuttle Crab will become tougher to kill and provide even more vision when defeated. These evolved jungle monsters will introduce more neutral objectives to fight over in the later stages of the game.

Summoner’s Rift Gets a Makeover

In addition to the monster changes, Summoner’s Rift will undergo alterations to its terrain. The bushes leading into side lanes and mid lane will be repositioned and resized, offering new strategic opportunities and challenges. Walls around Dragon and Baron pits will be extended, making cover harder to find during battles around these objectives. Get ready to explore the redesigned Rift and adapt to its new layout.

If you’re eager to experience these changes before the 2024 season, you can test them out in the PBE starting today, November 20.
