Summit’s Attempt to Join TSM Gets Rejected; Potential Talks with Misfits for 2022 Summer Split

Top Laner Summit Searching for New Team After Parting Ways with Cloud9

After winning the 2022 LCS Spring Split Most Valuable Player award, top laner Summit is now in search of a new team. In a livestream, the 23-year-old expressed his desire to join TSM for the 2022 LCS Summer Split. However, according to Korizon Esports’ Kevin Kim, the move was “blocked.” Summit did not provide details on how or by whom the deal was prevented.

If TSM had recruited Summit, he would have replaced veteran top laner Huni. This would have prevented the organization from bringing in Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang as the new starting mid laner due to import restrictions. TSM is still dealing with the aftermath of their worst LCS season and added Maple to their roster as a potential solution. TSM’s current lineup includes Huni, Spica, Tactical, Shenyi, and potentially Summit if the deal had gone through.

Summit also expressed interest in returning to the LCK, but he is uncertain if there are any available spots on any of the teams. Another possible option for Summit is joining Misfits Gaming for the summer season, although nothing has been finalized yet.

Possible Home with Misfits Gaming

Misfits Gaming has emerged as a promising team in the LEC, with a strong showing in the 2022 Spring Split regular season. Led by rising star mid laner Vetheo, Misfits finished in third place but fell to G2 Esports, the eventual European champions. Adding Summit to their roster could alleviate some pressure on Vetheo and provide the team with an LCS MVP caliber player, potentially making them true contenders.
