Steeelback’s Determination: Europe’s Strength Deserves Global Recognition

Fnatic’s Steeelback Reflects on his First International Event

In a thrilling match at the Mid-Season Invitational, SK Telecom T1 emerged victorious, leaving the Fnatic team to hold their heads high. Although they lost, this tournament marked a significant milestone for Fnatic’s AD carry, Steeelback. However, rumors of his replacement by Rekkles may cut his time with the team short.

Steeelback, a rookie in every sense of the word, has come a long way since being plucked up by Fnatic six months ago. He became an LCS champion and proved that Europe can challenge Korea. Despite his tearful defeat, he still feels proud to have shown the world Europe’s strength and potential.

Some critics argue that Fnatic’s success is not solely due to Steeelback’s performance, but rather the overall play of his teammates. During the tournament, his performance was scrutinized, particularly his inability to keep up with other AD carry talent. However, Steeelback used this as a learning opportunity and showed significant improvement in the match against SK Telecom T1.

In a David and Goliath-like situation, Fnatic faced a formidable opponent. Although they initially believed SKT was unbeatable, after scrimming against them, their confidence grew. While Fnatic’s preferred play style and compositions worked well, SKT’s coach played a trump card that proved to be their downfall.

Playing for Fnatic has been a valuable learning experience for Steeelback. As a young player with no prior professional experience, he gained valuable skills and knowledge about the game and its strategies. Working with coach Deilor has provided him with necessary guidance and support.

While this tournament may mark the end of Steeelback’s time with Fnatic, he plans to take the experience and skills he has gained to his next endeavor. Whether that is with Gambit Gaming or another team, he remains dedicated to League of Legends and is grateful for the opportunity he has had with Fnatic.

Overall, Steeelback’s journey has been a surreal experience for him. From playing on a challenger team to being a part of Fnatic and leading the LCS, he appreciates every moment of this incredible ride.
