Steeelback Departs from ROCCAT

Team ROCCAT Makes Roster Change

Team ROCCAT has announced its first roster change for the off-season. Pierre “Steeelback” Medjaldi, the AD carry, is no longer part of the lineup.

The French player joined ROCCAT just five months ago, leaving Unicorns of Love. Unfortunately, his time with the team was not successful as they struggled in the European League Championship Series. They finished at the bottom of the standings in the regular season and had to fight to stay in the league through relegation.

Steeelback’s Performance Shines Despite Team’s Struggles

Despite the team’s difficult season, many believe that Steeelback performed well, even better than the team’s placement suggests. He gained a reputation as a consistent performer on a team that lacked carry threats in other positions. Now, he is looking for a new home in the LCS.

Possible Options for Steeelback

Steeelback has a few options for his future. Origen is looking for a new AD carry, as they had their mid laner filling in for that position for most of the split. There is also speculation that Steeelback could join French organization Vitality.

Steeelback’s Plans for 2017

In a statement on his Facebook page, Steeelback confirmed that he will be staying in Europe for the 2017 season. He expressed his desire to build a strong team and compete on the world’s stage. He will announce his new team soon.

ROCCAT is Steeelback’s third team in the LCS. He first joined Fnatic as a surprise replacement for Rekkles in the Spring split of 2015. After being replaced by Rekkles, Steeelback played in the North American Challenger Series before returning to Europe to play for Unicorns of Love, and most recently, ROCCAT.
